Introduction

Industrial facilities like refineries, rigs, and plants generate massive volumes of visual data daily through inspection footage, CCTV monitoring, drone surveys, and everyday site operations. However, in most cases this data is underutilized. Valuable insights lie hidden and untouched.

viAct provides the solution to unlock these insights through AI-powered visual intelligence. viAct develops innovative computer vision and deep learning systems tailored to convert industrial visual data into real-time safety, environmental and efficiency insights.

In this article, we explore viAct’s visual analytics offerings and how they are helping industrial companies realize greater value from their wealth of visual data. By applying AI and intelligent algorithms, viAct makes it possible to continuously analyze imagery and video feeds to detect leaks, track emissions, identify corrosion, monitor safety procedures, and optimize processes.

viAct’s technology signifies the next wave of leveraging data analytics to drive sustainability, efficiency and risk reduction across heavy industries like oil and gas, chemicals, marine transportation and more. Let’s examine the platform paving the way for this visual intelligence revolution.

Company Overview

viAct was founded by CEO Mr. Gary Ng and COO Mr. Hugo Cheuk.

Gary Ng, a graduate in building engineering, brings years of experience in the construction industry. He previously served as Managing Director of 3D fashion technology company EFI Optitex and held senior management roles at NASDAQ-listed 3D printing firm Stratasys, where he was the worldwide number one President’s Club awardee in 2015 with 85% commercial growth.

Hugo Cheuk, viAct’s Co-Founder & COO, holds a Master’s in Business Administration and has over 10 years of experience in marketing strategy and brand development. He is a serial entrepreneur and community builder. Before viAct, Hugo led business development for Shiseido HK overseeing channel strategy and partnerships.

Together, Gary and Hugo combine deep industry expertise with an entrepreneurial vision focused on transforming the construction, infrastructure, and energy ecosystems through AI and visual intelligence solutions.

Since founding viAct in 2015, Gary and Hugo have built an international team of over 60 engineers and scientists developing cutting-edge visual AI tailored for industrial challenges.
